If you've come across the term "Permalites 365" while researching outdoor lighting options, you're looking at one of the biggest innovations in residential lighting to hit DFW in recent years. Homeowners searching for "permanent holiday lighting," "color-changing outdoor lights," or "app-controlled landscape lighting" are increasingly landing on Permalites 365 as the answer — and once you understand how it works, it's easy to see why.
Permalites 365 is a permanent lighting system installed once and used year-round for any occasion, any color, at any time. Unlike traditional string lights that need to be hung and taken down each season, Permalites 365 fixtures are individually addressable — meaning each light can be controlled independently to display custom colors, patterns, and effects, all managed through a local or cloud-based app.
In simple terms: one installation gives you landscape lighting for everyday use, holiday lighting for Christmas, and custom color displays for birthdays, game days, or any celebration in between — without ever climbing a ladder again.
The system is installed along your roofline, eaves, or other key architectural areas of your home, just like traditional permanent lighting. But instead of being limited to a single static color, each light point can be individually controlled to:
1. No More Seasonal Setup and Takedown
Traditional holiday lighting means installing lights before the season and taking them down (and storing them) afterward — every single year. With Permalites 365, the lighting stays up permanently, and changing the display is as simple as opening an app.
2. One System, Every Occasion
Instead of separate lighting for landscape ambiance, Christmas, Halloween, and everything in between, Permalites 365 covers it all with one installation. Team colors for game day, red and green for the holidays, orange for fall — it's all available with the same fixtures.
3. Safety
Eliminating the need for annual ladder climbs to hang and remove lights significantly reduces the most common risk associated with holiday lighting: falls.
4. Long-Term Value
While the upfront investment is higher than a single season of rented or purchased holiday lights, Permalites 365 pays for itself over time by eliminating the recurring cost of seasonal installation, takedown, storage, and replacement bulbs.
5. Commercial-Grade Durability
Built to withstand Texas heat, storms, and winter weather, Permalites 365 is designed for long-term outdoor use — not a seasonal, disposable product.
Permalites 365 tends to be the best fit for homeowners who:
For homeowners who only want lighting for a few weeks around Christmas and prefer a lower initial investment, traditional holiday lighting installation may still be the better fit — and that's a conversation worth having during a consultation.
Getting Permalites 365 installed follows a similar process to other lighting design services:
Permalites 365 represents a shift in how homeowners think about outdoor lighting — from a seasonal chore to a permanent, flexible feature of the home. If you're tired of the yearly cycle of installing and removing holiday lights, this permanent, app-controlled system might be exactly what you've been searching for.
